From Rock Bottom to College Football: One Player’s Inspirational Comeback Story

We recently completed a sit-down interview with Nick Rosso, a high school football player who managed to bounce back from some major setbacks to earn a college scholarship.

In the emotional interview, Nick describes how at the end of his junior year, everything was going right – he was set to be a starter on defense for his senior season and had multiple Division 1 colleges interested in recruiting him. But soon after, he made some bad decisions that led to him getting kicked off the team before the first game of his senior season.

At that point, Nick felt like his football dreams were completely shattered. As he says in the interview, “I was at rock bottom and I felt like I couldn’t go any lower than where I was.” He had no team, no stats, and zero chance of playing college ball.

Eventually, through an online search, he found PPT Elite – a college prep football program and competition platform for high school football players. Nick reached out to Coach Pugh to explain his story, and Coach Pugh gave him a tryout in 20-degree weather. After making the PPT Elite team, Nick slowly regained his confidence through months of hard training leading up to a big game in Seattle vs Heir Football Academy.

His performance in that game ended up opening up doors that Nick thought were closed forever. He landed an interview with a coach from Wayland Baptist University, then another interview at TCU, then a visit from a coach at Missouri Southern who traveled 6 hours just to watch Nick practice and meet him in person after seeing his game film.

Thanks to his perseverance and the opportunity from PPT Elite, Nick is now committed to playing college football at Missouri Southern. As Nick says, just months ago he was sitting hopeless, and now his football dreams are alive thanks to this second chance.

Nick’s story is incredibly inspirational and shows how someone can come back from major setbacks if they put their mind to it. His interview is a must-watch for any football player or coach needing extra motivation. It just goes to show that even when all seems lost, hard work and perseverance can help you achieve goals you thought were impossible.
